Sewing Gadget: Seam Allowance Guide

My pattern stash includes mostly Burda Magazines and we all know these don't include seam allowances. This means my tracing time is pretty much doubled since I have to add seam allowances. And that's definitely annoying!

But not anymore! A while ago I found out about this little gadget.
It's certainly a gadget as I'm sure many people have found ways to work around this annoying issue with other - cheaper- solutions (like here), but I was just sooo excited by it and the time-saving potential that I just had to order it...

On her site, Hollie demonstrates using it to cut your fabric directly without having to add seam allowances to your pattern, but if you did want to add the allowances to your pattern once you've traced it, I imagine you could also use the guide while cutting out your pattern.

Anyway it doesn't look like much but I'm super excited to try it out. Does this make me a sewing geek? most definitely...

Update: A couple more tips to adding seam allowances I found on the web:
here and here and this one if you own a serger.
